6th Form Open Evening
This took place on Thursday 19th November and was a highly successful evening. Despite the poor weather we witnessed one of our largest turnouts for a number of years.
Following a welcome and introduction in the main hall, visitors had the opportunity to look around the school and find out details about the many and varied courses that we now have to offer. Potential Law students witnessed a mock trial, whilst current Performing Arts students demonstrated rehearsal techniques. The Sports Leaders undertook an activity with Year 7 students and there were a number of experiments taking place in the Science block.
A successful new addition for this year was the opportunity to discuss higher education prospects with representatives from Liverpool Hope and Edge Hill Universities as well as gaining general career advice from Connexions.
Parents and students were able to relax over refreshments in the Senior Dining Room, view the newly refurbished Sixth Form Study Area and Common Room and speak to the many Sixth Form students who volunteered to help on the night.
Feedback was extremely positive : ‘ We were very pleased with all aspects and are reassured that CTK will give the right support - having University advice was also a bonus' and ‘ An eye opener for parents -so different from my A level choices. Current Sixth formers were really helpful with their experiences' are just two of the comments we received.
We are delighted that parents and prospective students felt that the Open Evening provided them with a useful insight into what Christ the King Sixth Form Centre has to offer.
If you were unable to attend this event but would like to find out more about our Sixth Form, please contact the Head of Sixth Form, Ms A Stead.
