August 2022 - Our best ever results achieved
We are thoroughly delighted with how our Year 11 pupils have performed in their GCSEs. They have achieved above and beyond teachers’ expectations, despite having their education affected by COVID - their last ‘normal’ school year was Year 8!
The high grades also reflect the hard work of teachers over the past two years; giving freely of their time after school to give extra help to pupils. Additional support including twilight pizza revision nights, one to one online external tutoring and February, Easter and May holiday sessions have clearly had a powerful impact.
Three quarters of all grades were graded 4-9; showing how well our pupils have performed. In addition, pupils have attained a record 86 grade 9s. We are especially delighted with our Maths results achieving their highest ever pass rate including a record number of grades 7 to 9.
Our Year 11 pupils have been inspirational in terms of their hard working attitude and resilience. They will be an asset to future employers as they have learnt to succeed in the face of adversity. We are so immensely proud of our Year 11 pupils.

Given the uneven impact of the pandemic on school and college performance data, the government has said you should not make direct comparisons between the performance data for one school or college and another, or to data from previous years.
