Welcome to CTK6

A large percentage of the students who study with us have been with us since Year 7 which is testament to the dedication and quality of the provision we offer. However we welcome students from local schools and beyond each year into Year 12, who quickly become important and valued members of the Christ the King community. Our induction programme ensures that external students quickly settle in and make bonds and friendships that last a lifetime.

CTK6 is a thriving environment with many opportunities for young people to develop, nurture and master themselves as accomplished young learners who are prepared for the world of higher education and employment.

We aim to inspire students and achieve excellence.

You only need to look at our Sixth Form statistics to know that we are a Sixth Form who cares for our students both academically and personally.

We have everything you need to be everything you want to be.

Students flourish in our supportive Sixth Form environment, we offer a personalised approach to each and every student. Our small class sizes and expert teachers mean that you will receive high quality and tailored lessons to meet your needs and push you academically. We offer both academic and vocational qualifications, this allows us to offer you a bespoke curriculum that meets your needs and future aspirations. We are committed to this journey with each and every Sixth Form student.

We are proud of our Sixth Form and our students. Thank you for taking the time to consider us as your Sixth Form provision. We look forward to welcoming you through our doors in September 2023.

CTK6 16-19 Study Offer

The CTK6 16-19 study offer is designed to provide students with a structured and challenging learning programme that supports their development and progression in line with their career plans. Study programmes are individually tailored but will typically combine the elements below:

  • substantial qualifications that stretch students and prepare them for education at the next level or for employment
  • English and Maths where students have not yet achieved a GCSE grade 4
  • work experience to allow students to develop their career choices and to apply their skills in real working condition
  • other non-qualification activity to develop students’ character, broader skills, attitudes and confidence, and to support progression.

At Key Stage 5, Level 3 students complete Academic or Vocational programmes, as well as Maths and English re-sits.

Each study programme consists of a number of planned hours that are realistic and deliverable. Study programmes are designed to be full-time with a minimum of 540 planned hours per academic year but likely to be on average 600 hours.

Higher ability students are offered the opportunity to complete the EPQ independently. A comprehensive Enrichment/PSHE programme is delivered through the tutorial programme and out of classroom opportunities. All students receive careers and future planning support.  Our Personal development programme allows all our students to continue develop their character and allow them to grow in experience and faith
