16-19 Bursary Fund

16-19 Bursary Funding is received from the Education and Skills Funding Agency, to provide support to students in the sixth form who face genuine financial difficulties. 

It is provided help students stay in Education and continue their studies.

The funding is allocated to the school on a yearly basis and the amount of allocation changes from year to year. 

It is administered by the school and priority will be given to those students who have the greatest financial need.

It is intended to help students with the essential costs of their studies, e.g. important books, equipment and travel costs and provide funding for personal development and enrichment opportunities. 


The 16-19 Bursary is split into 2 categories

Category 1 Funding – up to £1,200 per annum 

Available to students who fall into one of the following categories



Category 2 Funding – Household income below £36,000

Students who live in a household where the total income is less than £36,000 they can apply for support with transport, meals and essential books and equipment.

(Proof of household income will be required)

Please be aware that the eligibility criteria and amounts payable for the bursary are reviewed on an annual basis and may change from year to year. All current and prospective students will be informed of any changes as soon as they are made.
