The three activities must include at least one individual activity and at least one team sport. Each activity is worth 10% of the practical marks with the final 10% being a written piece of Coursework.
Academic Written Paper: This is worth 60% of the overall marks and is examined by TWO written examinations. The exam will comprise of multiple choice, short answers and longer 6 mark answers.
Applied Anatomy and Physiology.
Health, fitness and well being.
This examination has a one Tier entry for all candidates covering the whole range of GCSE grades (9—1).
It is very important for GCSE PE pupils to perform competitively during the 2 years studying the course, not only in representing the school but also for a local club. This is to ensure our pupils achieve the best practical grade possible for the sports they are assessed in. If pupils are not able to commit this time to train and play in at least one sport then it is still possible for them to study a sports course by choosing the vocational Sport studies course. This course does not assess their practical ability so will be more suited to them achieving their potential. Their PE teacher will be the best person to guide them.
