Overview
We offer a broad approach which has drawing and painting at its centre, but which also includes photography, digital art, printmaking, mixed media and 3D work.
AS LEVEL
Coursework Portfolio You will produce a portfolio of artwork which will be your response to a theme or topic that we will provide. Your portfolio will show how you have responded to the work of other artists, gallery visits and research are essential to this element of the course. Externally set assignment. This unit takes the form of a 10 hour test, responding to a theme set by the AQA board.
A LEVEL
Personal investigation
This is a practical unit with written work where you are expected to develop a personal investigation based on an idea, issue, concept or theme leading to a finished piece of work. Externally set assignment This unit takes the form of a 15 hour timed test set by AQA.
CAREER OPPORTUNITIES
Studying art can lead to a number of careers such as graphic design, Architecture, Animation, Fashion, Three dimensional Design, Photography, Films and TV work.
ENTRY REQUIREMENTS
Grade 5 in GCSE Art or equivalent.
