Reading

We are making reading a priority in our school.
Below are some of our reading related activities:

• Reading Club

• Library and new Reading Cloud platform where pupils can borrow and return book

• A book is part of the equipment and should be with pupils every day

• Form time reading once per week

• Author visits at Key Stage 3 e.g. Chris Martin and Joseph Delaney

• Reading Rewards each term

• Pupils entered into national competitions e.g. Young Writers

• PIXL Reading Newsletter sent to parents every term

• Intervention for readers below age 9 years with two specialist teachers

• Part of a national research trial on Reciprocal Reading with Y7 pupils

• Pupils below chronological age have access to ReadingWise to support their reading

• Annual Book Fair in the library
